Llandudno 10 Road Race 2005

The Llandudo 10 Road Race was run in near perfect conditions this year.With the usual large field and big race atmosphere, the race proved to be an exciting event.There were 62 runners who broke the 60 minute barrier this year.First home was Ray Plant of Stoke, finishing in 51.23 easily outrunning Luk Northall of Tipton Harriers, who struggled to keep up throughout.

The outstanding performance came from Steve Crowe of Ellesmere Port who clocked 56.05 taking a huge slice off his previous personal best.Steve, who has steadily improved his performances,ran strongly, and looks set to get high placings in the forthcoming Border League.

The ladies race was won by Amanda Wright of Birchfield Harriers who ran 57.06, well clear of her nearest rival.The first local runner home was Lynne Wright clocking a rather disappointing 61.10, well below her best for the distance.

The best performance by a local runner was undoubtedly Abergele's Graham Shone, now in the 55 age group.Shone clocked 61.14 and was third in his age group
